Relative weight used when several templates in this cloud match the same label. Requires Round-robin templates matching the same label to be enabled on the cloud; without it, templates are tried in configured order and this weight is ignored.
When rotation is enabled, Jenkins treats all templates matching a label as interchangeable hardware and rotates between them so an instance for that label provisions as fast as possible. A template with a higher weight is chosen proportionally more often — for example, weight 3 on a spot template and weight 1 on an equivalent on-demand template attempts spot three times as often, while still falling back to on-demand immediately if spot capacity is unavailable.
If the cloud has Saturate the highest weight before using a lower one enabled, the weight is a rank instead of a share: the same example attempts spot for every request, and the on-demand template is only used once spot is at its instance cap or has been demoted for reporting insufficient capacity. Templates sharing a weight still take turns.
The default of 1 gives plain round-robin. A weight of 0 excludes the template from normal rotation; it is only used when every other template in the group is in a capacity cooldown.
This setting affects provisioning from hot spares by label as well as ordinary label-driven provisioning.
